E-Solar gateway EVN
E-Well has developed a comprehensive gateway solution to facilitate the connection of distributed solar systems with EVN’s power grid infrastructure, ensuring compliance with Decision No. 378/QD-EVN.
The E-Gateway functions as a protocol bridge between solar installations and EVN’s control systems, connecting solar inverters, dataloggers, and energy meters to both the national power grid control system and E-Well Cloud platform through secure communication channels.

The system architecture features direct integration with EVN’s SCADA/DMS control center via IEC 60870-5-104 protocol, while supporting Modbus TCP communication with inverters and field devices. Multiple connectivity options include 4G/5G and Internet connections, with all data transmission encrypted using TLS and OpenVPN/IPSec protocols to ensure secure communication between field installations and control centers.

Hardware Design
The E-Gateway USG-1 and USG-2 models are built around a TI Cortex-A8 processor running at 800MHz, equipped with DDR3L 512MB memory and 1GB Micro SD storage for reliable data handling. The hardware design includes six RS-232/485 serial ports with 3000 VDC isolation for field device connections, dual 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports for network connectivity, and a Mini-PCIe slot for wireless expansion modules supporting WiFi, 4G, and 5G communications. The units operate reliably in industrial environments with an operating temperature range from -40°C to 70°C and humidity tolerance up to 95% non-condensing conditions.
Security Implementation

Security implementation follows enterprise-grade standards with full data stream encryption protecting all communications between field devices, gateways, and control centers. The system meets EVN’s information security requirements through implementation of industry-standard encryption protocols including TLS, OpenVPN, and IPSec, ensuring data integrity and preventing unauthorized access to critical infrastructure systems.

Grid control functionality enables remote power management through set-point commands received from EVN control systems. The gateway accepts both percentage and kilowatt-based control commands, executing them safely while maintaining continuous monitoring of power generation and daily energy output. Centralized inverter configuration management allows operators to adjust parameters across multiple installations from a single control point, streamlining maintenance and optimization procedures.
